Restaurant Sampling

James and I had such a fun Saturday! We had an awesome idea :) and decided to participate in Provo's Fall Dining Round! We spent our afternoon in downtown Provo sampling food from over 10 different restaurants. We ate so much yummy food, explored different eateries, and hung out with some great friends.

I can't help but list all of the tasty samples: Tacos, chips & salsa and a smoothie from Los Hermanos, quesadilla from Gurus, gelato and Alfredo pasta from Gloria's Little Italy, pot pie & hot chocolate from Communal, gourmet chocolate from Taste, smoothie from Ivie Juice Bar, doughnuts and root beer from Station 22, french fries from Bruges, buffalo shrimp from Slate, pie shake from Sammy's, and a sandwich from Sensuous Sandwich!

And yes, I am still full from yesterday.

Cheese Truck

If anybody has been wondering what I have been doing this past summer or why I haven't been on social media as much, here is your answer: Grilled Cheese. James and I have been touring Utah on the weekends and handing out free samples of grilled cheese sandwiches.

I have probably made more grilled cheese sandwiches than anyone else will ever (or should ever) make in their entire life. I am pretty much a professional. I have perfected the art of creating the best grilled cheese. The secret: lots of butter, amazing bread, and cache valley cheese. :)

I'm such a sap, but I couldn't help myself.... Here are some pictures from the past three years working with Special Events for Provo Parks and Recreation. Such good times.

Change of Plans

So, I have had a change of plans recently. I decided to make a career change. Last week was my last day working for the Parks and Recreation Department. It has been really hard for me to let my event job go. I loved working with Parks and Rec and I loved all the people that I got to work with. By chance, my last day ended up being the Volunteer Recognition Luncheon. It really was the perfect last day. I was able to see all of my interns from last year and just reflect on all the fun experiences I have had.

The nice thing is that I will still be working for Provo City, so I will still be able to see a lot of the event staff and work with Parks and Rec to a degree :)

Now for the exciting news.... I am now working in the Mayor's Office as the Public Relations Coordinator! I am really excited about the new position and everything that I am going to learn. This is an awesome opportunity for me and I am loving every second working in this new position. I am so happy and grateful. :)

Here is a pic of my new office. I have a few Miss Provo pictures hanging on my wall right now as a joke. :) I am going to keep them up until I decide how I want to decorate it... so girl power for now!

Work Happenings

So much has been happening at work lately! I have been relocated at the City Center because The Center has been demolished. The process to close a building and move everything into storage took up a lot of my January. One of our beloved items that I had to choose to get rid of was our dragons. :(
We decided to pull a prank on my boss and we dropped 2 dragons off at his home while he was at work. The dragon pictured was left in his backyard, hehe. I have been busy working on projects for the new Recreation Center and staying busy planning events.

We said goodbye to all of our part-time staff who worked at The Center. We invited them to an evening with Mark Ballas at the Covey Center :) It was such a fun production and the audience was going crazy :)

Easter has already begun for me. My event staff have been busy filling 16,000 Easter Eggs - and that is them squished into a children's cart to buy Easter candy. What a crazy but fun job I have.

Temporary Office

After the holidays, I had about 4 days to clear out of my office and move out all of our events supply from The Center because the building is being demolished for the New Recreation Center. It was a lot of work, and I didn't think it would be possible to move everything in time, but with the help from many amazing coworkers, we got everything moved out.

My office is relocated over at the City Center and I was lucky to be able to move into a vacant office temporarily while the new Recreation Center is being built. P.S. The new building is going to be amazing, and should open in the Spring. If you are in the Provo Area, you definitely need to check it out. It blows my mind every time I take a tour. You can check out some of the amenities here: http://provo.org/parks_and_rec.proposedreccenter.html

Here are some pictures of my temporary office for the next few months:

I of course have to have my brothers BYU Volleyball poster in my office. :) He is the 4th picture on the left from the top.

Planet of the Apes

For work, we dress up every year for Halloween. For years my boss has always wanted the staff to dress up as Planet of the Apes. It has become a funny joke around the office - so some of the staff members decided to actually dress up as apes this year.

Thats me on the left! :)

We accidentally showed up in the same costume. Great minds think alike.

Yes, that is me, in the middle, reading the magazine. :) Happy Halloween!
