A couple of weeks ago, James made a Harlem Shake video for his work team. I thought it was funny so I decided to share it on the blog! See if you can spot me in the video! haha.

Change of Plans
So, I have had a change of plans recently. I decided to make a career change. Last week was my last day working for the Parks and Recreation Department. It has been really hard for me to let my event job go. I loved working with Parks and Rec and I loved all the people that I got to work with. By chance, my last day ended up being the Volunteer Recognition Luncheon. It really was the perfect last day. I was able to see all of my interns from last year and just reflect on all the fun experiences I have had.
The nice thing is that I will still be working for Provo City, so I will still be able to see a lot of the event staff and work with Parks and Rec to a degree :)
Now for the exciting news.... I am now working in the Mayor's Office as the Public Relations Coordinator! I am really excited about the new position and everything that I am going to learn. This is an awesome opportunity for me and I am loving every second working in this new position. I am so happy and grateful. :)
Here is a pic of my new office. I have a few Miss Provo pictures hanging on my wall right now as a joke. :) I am going to keep them up until I decide how I want to decorate it... so girl power for now!

New Beginnings
{Stand in Holy Places}
Last Tuesday was New Beginnings for the Young Women in my ward. The event turned out great - all the decorations, talks, and refreshments turned out perfect. The youth theme this year is: Stand ye in Holy Places. To go along with the theme "shoes" were used to represent "standing" in holy places.
For my talk, I spoke on the Young Women values. I assigned a shoe to each value and shared how while wearing that shoe it can help us stand in holy places. For example, your "Rain Boot" represents Divine Nature. Each of us have inherited divine qualities, and we should strive to develop those qualities. By putting on your rain boot, you can accomplish anything - through any storm in your life :)
Below are my talking points for each shoe. You can also download the decorations that go along with the theme here.

Brighton
I had so much fun this weekend. I finally went snowboarding - it has been about 3 years and I don't know why. Boy I need to get my priorities straight. Luckily snowboarding is just like riding a bike :) It took me a little bit to get comfortable, but after one run I was able to get right back into it. Now I just need to get James out on the board again...
I was able to go boarding with a couple of friends/coworkers - who both ski. I had never gone snowboarding with skiers before and by the end of the day, they were making me wish I was skiing. Mainly because they had to wait for me every time we got off the lift... oh well! Such a fun night. Oh, and why is eating dinner at the Ski Lodge the best part? I had the most delicious bread bowl soup :) Food always taste the best after a good work out.
When I got into work the following week, this lovely trophy was sitting on my desk :) I am pretty proud of this little guy :) I guess I impressed my boss with my snowboarding skills.

Work Happenings
So much has been happening at work lately! I have been relocated at the City Center because The Center has been demolished. The process to close a building and move everything into storage took up a lot of my January. One of our beloved items that I had to choose to get rid of was our dragons. :(
We decided to pull a prank on my boss and we dropped 2 dragons off at his home while he was at work. The dragon pictured was left in his backyard, hehe. I have been busy working on projects for the new Recreation Center and staying busy planning events.
We said goodbye to all of our part-time staff who worked at The Center. We invited them to an evening with Mark Ballas at the Covey Center :) It was such a fun production and the audience was going crazy :)
Easter has already begun for me. My event staff have been busy filling 16,000 Easter Eggs - and that is them squished into a children's cart to buy Easter candy. What a crazy but fun job I have.

Sundance Film Festival
James and I had a fun time at the Sundance Film Festival this year. We always like to go up to Park City and walk around Main Street and try to spot some celebrities :) We did end up seeing a few! We were actually in the Marriott when Nicole Kidman walked through the lobby!
We decided it would be fun to see a Sundance Film and we were able to catch a documentary by Shaul Schwarz - Narco Cultura.
I was also able to go see the Kesha Concert with my friend Britnie!
