Fun in the Sun

My sister Tatum is moving to Provo for Fall semester!! I am the luckiest girl. I get to have both of my sisters living close to me!

Tatum and and her good friend Carley came up yesterday to go apartment shopping and I got to spend the whole day with them. We spent the whole day at Seven Peaks. I love them and can't wait till they move up here.

Major Tom

You know how you get a song stuck in your head... I think I have had Peter Schilling's song Major Tom stuck in my head for about 5 years now. I swear I will just start singing it randomly all the time. I don't know why, but I just do. I like the Shiny Toy Guns cover (it is on the Lincoln commercial). Have a listen.

Carlsbad Caverns

Welcome to our Carlsbad Caverns guided tour:

James was so excited to take me to the caverns! We decided to make the trip into a two day stay. We drove up in the afternoon so we could watch the bats fly out at dusk and then stayed the night in Carlsbad so we could go through the caves the next morning. They have a cool amphitheater at the natural entrance were everyone sits and waits to see the bats... It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen, I couldn't believe how many bats there were! James and I even adopted a bat at the end of our trip ;)

On the drive up to Carlsbad, there were these really cool cactus called Centuries along the road. It thought they looked cool so we stopped to take pictures of them.

The next day we woke up early to get breakfast and then headed out to the caves!!

This little guy was posing for the camera. Look how cool he looks, I love his blue belly.

We had these audio tour wands that would tell us all about the cavern's history, explorers, formations, etc... It was fun to learn all about how the caves were formed. We even did trivia on the drive home. Dang we are smart.

Here are some pictures inside the caves. It was so awesome. There were so many interesting crazy formations. These pictures are fun, but it is so much better in real life. I seriously felt like I was on a different planet when I was down there. It was crazy to think that I was hundreds of feet under the ground...It really was such a surreal experience.

This has been such a fun and unique trip so far! James and I are having tons of fun visiting his family. We love Las Cruces.

White Sands

James just took me to White Sands National Monument. It was seriously one of the coolest places I have ever seen! It is so crazy because as you approach the dunes it looks like there is snow everywhere, in the middle of the summer! You naturally want to slow down because it looks like you are driving on snow, haha. I loved it. We were able to get there right before the sun went down so we could get a few pictures and then we played around on the sleds. It was such a cool, cool experience.

Thank you Jackie and Kevin for having us down here. James and I are having a blast. We love the time we get to spend with you guys. We love you and thanks so much for my first awesome Las Cruces memory.

Summer Ready

Every summer I always get a season pass to Seven Peaks, and I am so lucky this summer because I get to have my cute sister Alex living here in Provo with me! So we both got passes and this is where we will be everyday on my lunch break...and every Saturday! I feel so lucky to have her here, she really is my best friend.

And I did something crazy for me, I lightened my hair! I have had it dark forever. Thank you Jami! You did an awesome job. ;)
